Cafe Ried'L in Schleiz

Very unfriendly, almost dismissive owner: No possibility to get something to eat with a miniature poodle (!). Treating potential guests in this way is only possible if there is very clear competition on site. Well, the Asian next door was ok.

Expensive, value for money bad. There is a lot of work with finished products, which unfortunately you can also taste. In view of the lack of competition in Schleiz, you get the impression that the kitchen doesn't have to bother. The guests come anyway due to a lack of alternatives. The Café Ried'l once had a good reputation. Too bad that the quality is no longer available. Finished products in the kitchen hardly do any work and are cheap.

Unfortunately, an absolute disappointment on February 15, 2020. Reserved table, unfortunately the reservation was not known when we arrived. Were there at 7.45 p.m. Opening hours according to the notice board and telephone call: until 10:00 p.m. It's already weak that the kitchen closes at 6 p.m. on a Saturday. But just wanted to drink something anyway. Empty at 7.45 p.m., except for a few guests in the back room. Were then treated very unfriendly by a service person who then brought the managing director, who then even more shamelessly dumped us. We used to feel really comfortable in the shop. Kitchen was always ok From now on never again Cafe Ried'l!

Very good food, fair prices and nice staff. Highly recommended for coffee with ice cream and homemade cakes.

We were on December 25th. invited to dinner. There was a menu, which also tasted quite good. The price of almost 30 euros was not appropriate to the quality and quantity. Our child ate toilets with sauce. It does not work here at all that neither was asked whether the child would like to eat the soup or the ice cream dessert. Apparently only adults got that. I also had the feeling that you should eat as quickly as possible so that the next guests had space. More than 2 stars are unfortunately not worth it for me.

Like to go here because you have a good selection of dishes. So not so one-sided. Is always something new. Also great for drinking coffee. Ambience beautiful classic and cozy. Very nice service. On weekends or public holidays, a call to the reservation is worthwhile. Now also a new toilet downstairs. So do not have to go up the stairs anymore.
